Instituto and Riestra tied this Thursday night, 0 to 0, in one of the matches that opened the first date of zone A of the Professional League Cup, and which marked the absolute debut of the Buenos Aires club in the highest category.
It was the local team that proposed the most in the initial stage, with an offensive scheme, in which the midfielders Roberto Bochi and Gastón Lodico stood out in the quick recovery, but the team was long between the lines and without good connections with the men of stroke.
An inconsequential participation by Silvio Romero, very isolated, prevented “Gloria” from gravitating into the rival areaand it was only Guido Mainero, with some isolated action, who hoped the locals would contribute the football quota that did not appear in the hot afternoon-night of Alta Córdoba.
The visitor took refuge very close to his goal, with a well-defined line of five in the background, he was determined to do his business of trying to keep the goal at zero and trying to find some possibility of counterattack.
Nicolás Benegas was the one who contributed a certain unevenness when he had the ball at his feet, although Deportivo Riestra could not achieve partnerships that would allow him to reach Manuel Roffo’s goal with more people, who had no major problems.
Until shortly after the end of the first half came the expulsion of Gregorio González -for a leg up on a rival-a situation that suggested some parity in development, since Riestra with an extra man could be encouraged to arrive with more players at the rival field.

In addition, the visitor did not dare to go for more and the idea was established that he could have taken something in his absolute debut in the highest category, because the plan went as he thought, since the former Instituto goalkeeper, Ignacio Arce , there were no surprises.
Diego Dabove’s team continued looking for him, in that second half some of Romero’s power could be seen, until he was replaced, but the insinuations did not go beyond that, in a match that never gained momentum, and fell into a maelstrom of calm, which he even carried to the stands.
La “Gloria” will be home again in Alta Córdoba next Monday at Atlético Tucumán for the second date, while Riestra will visit Argentinos in La Paternal on Wednesday.
