The Saint-Dizier Twirling is hosting the departmental championships this Saturday January 27 and Sunday January 28, at the La Noue gymnasium, where more than 150 Champardennais athletes will be gathered.
In total, it should be noted the participation of eight clubs from the Ardennes, Aube, Marne and Haute-Marne, with the presence of SLO Twirling and Saint-Dizier Twirling. Athletes will compete solo, in pairs or in teams, and the three sectors N1, N2 and N3 will be represented. As for the organizing club, 37 athletes will be competing, from the junior to senior category. SLO Twirling will also be particularly well represented. It will also be an opportunity for many young athletes to compete in their very first official competition.
“We need to launch them into the competition as quickly as possible and make them evolve quickly,” says Aurélie Henrionnet, technical manager of Saint-Dizier Twirling. The objective for the Bragardes and the Bettancourtoises, beyond supremacy over these departmentals, will also be to score a maximum of points with a view to qualifying for the Grand Est championship. An intermediate stage will take place on February 24 and 25, in Châlons-en-Champagne, with the interdepartmental championships where the four Champardennais departments will be mixed. The competition begins this Saturday, from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and resumes on Sunday, from 8:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
