By the way, the retired man with a degree in electrical engineering became famous on the Internet under the name Hide the Pain Harold, thanks to his photos of his forced smile. It seems that success and luck have been on his side ever since, as he won nearly three million forints in Thursday night’s Wheel of Fortune – and also got rich with an electric fireplace. András revealed in the program that he will use a part of the fabulous grand prize for charitable purposes: he donated the amount to the Budapest Association of the Disabled, writes the Riposte.

András Arató’s face is known and sent to each other as a meme by Internet users worldwide, but the now 78-year-old man has also appeared in numerous advertisements, including a Coca-Cola ad, in recent years.
His famous photos were taken in 2010: an American stock photographer approached him on the then-popular social networking site iWiW: he wanted to add to his upcoming photo collection a portrait of a man with a painful smile. A few months later, it became a meme thanks to a Nashville teenager who created a funny image and text combination that spread like wildfire across the Internet in various forms.
