As part of a plea agreement signed between the parties, which does not include agreements on the punishment, an amended indictment was submitted by the Southern District Attorney’s Office, from which it appears that during Independence Day Bloom worked at a nature party, which took place in the south of the country. During her work she drank several alcoholic beverages and after the end of her shift Blum drank several more alcoholic beverages.
In the afternoon of that day Bloom left the party when she was drunk from drinking alcohol and a low concentration of the cannabis drug was found in her blood. At a certain point in the journey on Route 40, Blum began to drive dangerously which forced some vehicles to pull over to avoid an accident and while detouring using merging lanes.
At a certain point, south of the Negev junction, from the opposite direction to Bloom’s journey, a car arrived with a couple of parents and their four small children, residents of Nokad. The driver, who noticed Blum’s car traveling in front of him in the opposite lane, tried to swerve to the right shoulder to avoid the collision with him, but despite this, the front of Blum’s car hit his car with great force.
As a result of the accident Maayan Domanovich, who was only 10 months old, was killed. In addition, the parents and their three young children who survived were seriously injured and were taken to the trauma room at Soroka Hospital. Bloom was also injured and needed medical treatment.
In accordance with her confession, the judge of the District Court in Beer Sheva, Yuval Labidro, convicted Blum of reckless homicide, serious injury, drunken driving and driving without a license.
It should be mentioned that following the difficult incident, it became clear that this was not the first time Bloom was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. In 2017, she received a fine when she was caught driving drunk. As part of a plea agreement, which was reached due to shortcomings of the police in the case, the traffic court in Petah Tikva ruled to disqualify her license for three months and imposed a fine of only NIS 500 on her.
