development of a transition strategy for the reform of the judicial system –

The work was launched on Wednesday January 24, 2024, by Minister Paul Marie Gondjout.

Launched on Wednesday January 24, 2024, the work will end on March 15, 2024 with the submission of the final report, which will serve as a guide to the modernization of the judicial system and prison administration and will be submitted to the transitional government. Indeed, the working group will aim to develop the transition strategy for the reform of the judicial system.

By implementing the 115 recommendations formulated for better justice, during the first symposium on justice reform in Gabon was held in Libreville from November 21 to 24, 2024. This symposium made it possible to take stock of the configuration current state of the justice system and its limitations.

The working group set up by the Minister of Justice will therefore construct the elements for implementing the recommendations made and which are not taken into account in the actions carried out by Paul-Marie Gondjout for four months. In particular, the reform of the Civil Code and the Nationality Code.
