The Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar National Winning Team (AMIN National Team) will report to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to Bawaslu regarding the president’s statement that he can campaign and take sides. The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) questioned the article that the AMIN National Team considered Jokowi to have violated.
“Because this is related to the election, we will return to Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning Elections. According to Article 299, the President is indeed allowed to campaign,” said TKN Secretary Nusron Wahid to journalists, Thursday (25/1/2024).
According to Nusron, reporting to Bawaslu is carried out if election-related violations occur. Nusron also questioned what violations had been committed Jokowi.

“People are reported to Bawaslu if they violate the Election Law. Has the President violated the law, what article has he violated?” he explained.
Furthermore, Nusron asked that Jokowi’s statement regarding the president being allowed to campaign and taking sides not be made a fuss. Because, he said, there are no rules prohibiting the president from participating in the campaign.
“You can even run for the president, let alone campaign. As long as there are no regulations prohibiting it, that means it is allowed. So why the fuss? Unless there is a law that prohibits it,” he said.
Previously, the Head of the AMIN National Team Legal Team, Ari Yusuf Amir, said that his party would provide an analysis regarding President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) statement which said that the president could campaign and take sides. The AMIN National Team will report this to Bawaslu RI.
“Yes (will report), we will provide our legal opinion, our legal analysis to Bawaslu. And ask Bawaslu to respond later,” said Ari Yusuf in Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday (25/1).
“So we are now in Jakarta preparing it, we are formatting it well. We will make a report to Bawaslu regarding this,” he added.
Ari said that this statement was suspected of violating his interests as the country’s leader. He suspects that many state facilities are difficult to differentiate for campaign purposes.
“(Regarding the allegation) of national and state interests. So it’s more about formal rules that all these formal rules are made. For example, yesterday, for example, when ministers ran for office, they were supposed to resign. Now it’s not enough to take leave,” said Ari Yusuf. .
