“Maestro, I’m not very correct, that’s what makes our show on sensitive topics stand out, I’m sorry, but… Your wife was seriously ill. You were already prepared that you wouldn’t be able to roll?” asked the presenter, director J. J. Gillinger.
“Well, yes, what can you do? On the one hand, she was lucky in the sense that she left, because it could have ended in terrible pain. It’s a terrible thing. Turned as it turned. It is, yes… Maybe that’s good ,” says the Maestro.
“And I had to play in the evening…” Asked how it can be done, the popular composer says: “It turns out that it can.”
The maestro admits that he is trying to continue a normal life. “I love that the house is in order. But frankly, it’s sad. What saves me is that I go out in public every night.”
When asked if he will remain a bachelor, the Maestro says: “Looking for new options in my life – categorically I will not do it. At my age, no one needs me anymore. Some kind of girlfriend, I don’t really care…”
“There is another dangerous thing – everyone will say that she went to him only because of the property. I have the property until the grandchildren have collected everything,” laughed Paul.
“I like to meet on the radio – I have a whole editorial team there, I also meet people in Daile. But… as it is, it is,” says Paul.
It has already been reported that on August 4, 2023, society was shocked by the sad news – Lana Paula, the wife of maestro Raymond Paula, passed away after an illness at the age of 84. The maestro and his spouse would celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on August 31.
Farewell to Lana took place only among the closest people. The memorial event before the cremation took place at noon on August 8, and only five people took part in it – Raimonds Paul himself, his daughter Anette and her husband, and Paula’s granddaughters Annamarija and Monika.
