The first Grand Slam tournament of the season, Australian Open 2024, is nearing completion in Melbourne. The second racket of the world, Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, played in the semi-finals of the women’s singles.
Our athlete defeated the fourth racket of the world, American Coco Gauff – 7:6 (7:2), 6:4. The match lasted 1 hour 44 minutes. For the second title in a row on the courts of Melbourne, Arina Sabalenka will compete with the winner of the confrontation between Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska (93) and Chinese Xingwen Zhen (15). The final match will tentatively take place on January 27.
Let us remember that last year the winner of the tournament was Arina Sabalenko, who beat Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan in the final.
