Ice around Picard – six stores are closed

The French freezer chain Picard’s Swedish stores have been declared bankrupt, reports GP and Dagligvarunytt.

Picard currently has six stores in Sweden. At most, they had 15 in 2018, but have since closed a few stores annually.

When the chain opened in Sweden in 2013, the goal was to have 50 stores within five years, they told Fastighetsvärlden.

It is the Swedish ownership company Sella Sweden that cannot pay its debts.

– The staff has been informed and the plan is to keep the stores open during a sales period, says bankruptcy administrator Lars Lundberg at the agency 7Wise.

Picard can be found today, in the Stockholm area, on Karlavägen (the first store opened in February 2023), Sveavägen, Sankt Eriksplan and Götgatan in and on Stora Marknadsvägen in Täby and on Frölunda Torg in Gothenburg.
