Green criticism – excitement about Eichgraben sticker album

The distribution of the anniversary sticker album began in Eichgraben, which brings the Eichgraben clubs to the fore and reflects on the anniversary year. Shortly afterwards, the Eichgraben Greens were surprised to find an unordered sticker album in the mailbox, even though they were aware of the matter from the community committees. “There may be reasons to find this idea of bringing clubs into the spotlight nice, but unfortunately in our opinion there are even more reasons to reject it,” said the Greens via Facebook, who do not consider the album to be a contemporary form of citizen participation.

Criticism was given to the huge amounts of paper waste, the depiction of children with real names and the fact that their faces were bartered, the resulting social pressure among children to have to take part in costly participation in economically tense times, and the waste of community resources for PR purposes due to the Distribution of albums by construction yard employees and an opaque project budget. “If our place is more important to you than self-expression and you have no use for the sticker album, give it back to the community. Reduce – reuse – recycle!”, demand the Greens.

ÖVP: “Transparent processing”

ÖVP Mayor Georg Ockermüller can only be surprised by these arguments: “It is a recognition for local clubs and organizations. All content is informative even without collecting stickers and is intended to illustrate the importance of local community and help get even more people excited to get actively involved.”

After the project presentation to the responsible committee by project manager Vice Mayor Johannes Maschl, a number of things were adjusted and optimized. From the ÖVP’s point of view, the process is transparent and there is consent from all people pictured. “In my view, this was a good campaign for all parties except the Greens. But it doesn’t surprise me that this is now being argued. Collect or not, stick or not… the content is important,” says Ockermüller.

For every 10 euros spent, you can get a sticker pack in many Eichgraben shops. You can also buy the stickers in the Rothwangl bakery, in the tobacconist and pharmacy, in the community service center and in the library.

Exchange exchange set up

To make swapping easier, the first swap meet dates have already been fixed: Eichgraben Library, February 1st, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and in the Kleiner Knödler on February 9th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. “If someone doesn’t want to use the sticker album themselves, they can bring it to the citizen service or library. There are siblings or family members who would be very happy to receive additional albums,” concluded the mayor.
