Bhubaneswar: East Bengal entered Kalinga Super Cup final. East Bengal qualified for the Kalashapore by defeating Jamshedpur by two goals in the semi-finals.
East Bengal faced Jamshedpur with the confidence of beating Mohun Bagan 3-1 in the last match of the group stage. Bengal took the first lead through Hijazi Meher in the 19th minute. East Bengal doubled the lead in the 47th minute at the beginning of the second half. Spanish striker Javier Saverio scored the goal.
East Bengal last reached the Super Cup final in 2018. They lost 1-4 to Bengaluru FC that day. The second semi-final between Mumbai City and Odisha will be played on Thursday. The final is on Sunday.
