Bola.net – The Iraqi National Team successfully overcame the resistance of the Vietnam National Team on the final matchday of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Wednesday (24/01/2024) evening WIB.
The match between Iraq and Vietnam was exciting and ended dramatically because both sides scored goals. One red card was also given to Khuat Van Khang.
Iraq’s goals were scored by Reib Sulaka and Aymen Hussein (brace). Meanwhile, Vietnam’s goals were scored by Bui Hiang Viet Anh and Nguyen Quang Hai.
This result makes Iraq at the top of Group D with nine points. Meanwhile Vietnam returned from the 2023 Asian Cup with caretaker status and could not score any points at all.

In this match, the Vietnam National Team successfully scored the first goal in the 17th minute. Zaid Tahseen scored an own goal.
But the referee then disallowed the goal. Because in the process, Van Khang was caught offside first.
Vietnam was finally able to score a goal legally. In the 42nd minute, Bui Hoang Viet Anh grabbed Khuat Van Khang’s free kick in the penalty box. 0-1!

When they thought they were going to win, Iraq conceded the goal in the 90+2 minute. Their goal was broken through by Nguyen Quang Hai. He took advantage of a wild ball from Thanh Binh’s header. 2-2!
The match looks like it will end with a draw. But in the 90+11 minute, Vo Minh Trong committed a foul in the penalty box. Vietnam was also awarded a penalty. The execution was completed successfully by Aymen Hussein a minute later.
That goal ended this dramatic match. Iraq 3-2 Vietnam.
