Federico Saihueque Cuevas is intensely wanted in Claromecó, Tres Arroyos district, where this Sunday he was last seen after going into the sea with a kayak. Members of the Buenos Aires Police, municipal personnel, volunteer firefighters and coast guard of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) participate in the search operation, which is carried out by sea and land. At the close of this edition, the police found a boat on the coast of the Buenos Aires town and everything seems to indicate that it would be the kayak used by the 25-year-old young man.
According to police sources, Saihueque Cuevas is a hairdresser from Tres Arroyos who disappeared out to sea this Sunday, after renting a kayak in the Puerto Mosquito sector, on streets 12 and 13 of Claromecó.
After the family filed a missing person report, the municipality of Tres Arroyos planned an operation to find his whereabouts together with municipal staff from the spa, volunteer firefighters and security forces.
“According to the complaint for finding out his whereabouts, the boy has a slim physical build, 1.80 meters tall, white complexion and short dark brown hair. He was wearing black shorts and a blue and black T-shirt with a print in white letters. “, detailed the spokespersons.
The search is carried out by “water and land, on the coast of Claromecó and covering the entire jurisdiction from the Cristiano Muerto stream to the Quequén River,” community sources explained.
On the other hand, the Argentine Naval Prefecture “continues the aquatic search with the Río Paraguay coast guard, a light boat and a jet ski,” they stated. This Tuesday, meanwhile, an aircraft specialized in searching for objects will join the operation.
The community spokesmen also indicated that the young man “had been spotted on Sunday about 5,000 meters out to sea in a straight line off the coast of Dunamar after 7 p.m.” and “when invited to return to the coast, he stated that he was fine.”
Sandra Saihueque, the young man’s cousin, said this Tuesday in dialogue with Télam that “they were working with a coast guard, they took out the area where they are going to prioritize the search and we are waiting.”
“Federico was accompanied early Sunday and in the afternoon he decided to rent a kayak, apparently he headed for the sea, they warned him to get out but he said he was calm, fine, he would leave in a moment and from then on we don’t know anything more,” he added. .
“His parents, along with a brother and his wife, are in Claromecó in permanent contact with the security forces, who have been there since the minute the complaint was made,” he said.
Days ago, a similar event occurred in Cariló, when two friends, Ramón Román and Gabriel Raimann, disappeared after going out to sea to fish with a kayak. In this case, the boat was located last Saturday 37 kilometers from the coast of Villa Gesell by a plane from the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA), although there is still no data on the whereabouts of the fishermen.
