The list of 41 athletes pre-summoned for the Olympics has been released. There is also the Cameroonian, who has become a US citizen, but also James who has not participated since London 2012. First time for Curry
The USA is aiming for a fifth Olympic gold in a row in Paris and is ready to set up a new Dream Team. The list of 41 pre-summoned players has been announced, from which the 12 players who will fly to France in the summer will be chosen. Among these also LeBron James – who has not taken part in the Games since London 2012 -, Stephen Curry, never at the Olympics, and Joel Embiid, Cameroonian by birth but who became an American citizen in 2022. The list is a mix of veterans (also present Durant, three golds with Team USA, and then Butler, George and Irving) and young stars, from Holmgren to Edwards, from Haliburton to Banchero. The final roster should be announced at the beginning of May. The USA are returning from a World Cup that was closed outside the medal zone, but with a very young group: this is also why coach Steve Kerr and executive director Grant Hill have explored the availability of some veterans in recent months.
