The Temporary National Energy Emergency Fund helps pay the energy bill. It is intended for residents with a low income and a high energy bill. The National Energy Emergency Fund was set up by energy suppliers and receives a subsidy from the government.
In winter, half a million households find it difficult to pay the high energy bill. Especially now that there will no longer be a price ceiling in 2024. A household that is eligible for a contribution from the Emergency Fund has a gross income of a maximum of 200% of the social minimum. In concrete terms, this amounts to 3,200 euros (for singles) and 4,480 euros (for cohabiting couples). The amounts include 8% holiday pay and exclude allowances. Do you spend more than 8% to 10% of your gross income on your energy bill? Then apply for help from the Energy Emergency Fund noodfondsenergie.nl.
Situation check
You can register until April 1, 2024. Whether and how much support you receive depends on the amount of your energy bill and gross income. Therefore, first check the situation via noodfondsenergie.nl. If the difference is too great, your energy supplier will reduce part of the energy bill for a period of six months. It does not matter which energy supplier you use. Are you not eligible for help from the Energy Emergency Fund? Then you can contact the Tilburg Support Fund Foundation for help in paying your energy bill.
Where can you apply for support?
The Emergency Fund application can be made at emergencyfondsenergie.nl. Households can go there to submit the application via computer or via the app. Family members, friends or care providers can also submit the application for someone else through an authorization. You can submit an application until March 31, 2024. Households with questions can contact the national emergency fund helpline.
