The Portuguese League Cup has its first finalist: Rodrigo Salazar’s Sporting Braga, who with an assist from the Uruguayan beat Sporting CP 1-0 at the Leiria Municipal Stadium and eliminated them in the semifinals.
He had two Uruguayans in front of him: Sebastián Coates and Franco Israel, who were starters on Rúben Amorim’s team.
The only goal of the match came in the 65th minute, after a perfect cross from the right by Salazar, which was connected with a header by Spaniard Abel Ruiz for Braga’s victory.
The other finalist will be decided this Wednesday, when they face Estoril Praia in the same Benfica stadium.
