According to the RDI, the disruption can extend up to about 30 meters and occurs on frequencies between 30 and 200 MHz. This means that the device can disrupt the communication equipment of emergency services, such as ambulance or fire brigade.
Radio on FM and DAB+ can also be affected by the device, as can the communication networks of ships and aircraft. The RDI sees increasing ‘pollution’ of the radio spectrum. According to the service, this can have major consequences, ‘for example if 112 is not reachable due to disruptions’.
This concerns a product from manufacturer Kapimex that was available at Action between March 10 and August 15 last year. Only the diffusers with badge number 874122, in combination with item numbers 27300221 or 27300222, are being recalled. Customers are asked to return the device to the store. They will then receive the purchase amount back.
