Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, revealed the details of the Medical City project for the Educational Hospital Authority, after President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ratified it.
This came during Abdel Ghaffar’s speech, during the annual scientific conference, held by the General Authority of Hospitals and Educational Institutes, under the title “Annual Scientific Conference for Emergency Medicine,” in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives. From 22 to 23 January this year.
The Minister of Health said that he is scheduled to hold a meeting today, Monday, with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. To discuss the details of the Medical City project for the Teaching Hospitals Authority.
Abdel Ghaffar added: “This project will transport medical services in Egypt, given that it includes 4,000 beds and is built on an area of 230 acres, on Ain Sokhna Road in front of the Administrative Capital. The medical city will bring together 18 institutes in one place, both current and new.”
The Minister of Health continued: “The city will also include a medical university, central laboratories, housing for doctors, hotels to attract medical tourism, and research centers that coordinate with all specialties… This is a large and very expensive project, but it is worth it.”
