iPhones hold their value significantly longer than Androids. But that doesn’t mean you should sell your old Android for less.
Androidy
Already six months after purchase, most phones with this operating system it loses 30 to 40 percent of its value. “That’s quite a lot, considering that it’s a short time and the phone is practically still new,” commented Michaela Matejová from the website zoznam.sk.
A year after the purchase, you can sell the phone for 40 to 50 percent of the original price. For the premium ones, i.e. Galaxy S devices and some Xiaomi phones, even 60 percent.
After two years, however, your phone will lose its value more significantly. You won’t get more than a fifth to a third of the original price for it. OFand more than five years, you should rather give it to someone for free.
iPhone
Apple phones hold their price longer. After three months, it will drop by a tenth to a fifth, and after half a year it will drop by 20 to 30 percent.
Even after a year, you can sell iPhones for 60 to 70 percent of the original price. That’s about the same as Androids in six months.
After two years, the value of these phones will decrease by 40 to 55 percent. In addition, the iPhone can be sold even five years after purchase. You will get 20 to 30 percent of the original price for it.
Valuable older mobile phones
For example, phones Samsung Galaxy Note 7 the company had to stop production. For some, the battery exploded while charging. But if you have it at home and decide to sell it, you can still earn about 17 thousand crowns.
You can also get a few thousand for a mobile phone LG G5, especially if it is in excellent condition and original packaging. In that case, you can get 4,000 crowns for it.
