Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir appointed TNI General Maruli Simanjuntak as Main Commissioner of PT Pindad. Maruli replaces TNI General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman who was honorably dismissed from his position.
The appointment was marked by the submission of a copy of the Decree of the Minister of BUMN number: SK-16/MBU/01/2024 and the decision of the President Director of PT Len Industri as Shareholders of PT Pindad number: 001/KRUPS/LEN-PINDAD/I/2024 at the PT Auditorium Pindad Bandung, Monday (22/1/2024).
Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo hopes that with the appointment of Maruli Simanjuntak as President Commissioner, Pindad can continue to develop and generate good profits. Not only that, it is hoped that this state-owned defense equipment manufacturing company can also develop its business not only in the weapons production sector (downstream), but also upstream or in the production of raw materials for defense equipment.
“In the context of development, BUMN together with the government can build long-term defense industry development capabilities not only for downstream products but also upstream,” said Tiko.
Contents of Maruli Simanjuntak’s Garage
Looking at the other side, Maruli is the son-in-law of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Talking about the contents of the garage, Maruli is recorded as having four vehicles consisting of two cars and two motorbikes as stated in Maruli’s State Administrator’s Wealth Report (LHKPN) for 2022.

Overall, General Maruli has total assets of IDR 52,889,538,310 (IDR 52 billion). His assets are dominated by cash and cash equivalents worth IDR 43 billion, building land worth IDR 22 billion, securities IDR 4 billion and movable assets IDR 2 billion. However, General Maruli was recorded as having debts worth IDR 21 billion.
