Ram Mandir event: Prana pratishtha of Ram temple in Ayodhya today (Ram Mandir) Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnan responded to the opposition leaders who refused the ceremony. He said that Lord Ram is the soul of India and the decision not to participate in the dedication ceremony is unfortunate. “It is unfortunate. No Christian, priest or Muslim can refuse Lord Rama’s invitation. Rama is the soul of India. India cannot be imagined without Rama,” said Acharya Pramod. He added that rejecting the invitation would mean insulting India’s cultural stature and culture.
“This means challenging India’s pride and existence… I want to appeal to all opposition parties, fight BJP but not Ram. Fight BJP but not Sanatana. Fight BJP but don’t fight India,” Acharya Pramod said. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and other prominent figures had earlier announced that they would not participate in the Ram idol dedication ceremony in Ayodhya. Congress leaders termed the event as an RSS/BJP event.
“Millions of people worship Lord Rama in our country. Religion is a personal matter. But RSS and BJP are turning the Ayodhya temple into a political agenda. BJP and RSS leaders inaugurated the unfinished temple for electoral gains,” the Congress said in a statement. Several opposition leaders such as Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Yadav and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar also announced that they would not attend the function.
