2023 Asian Cup: Indonesian National Team to Face Japanese National Team at Al Thumama Stadium

Indonesian National team will fight Japanese national team in continuation 2023 Asian Cup. Shin Tae-yong has an okay record against the Blue Samurai.

Japan vs Indonesia will take place at Al Thumama Stadium, Wednesday (24/1/2024). The match kicks off at 18.30 WIB.

Indonesia faces opponents who are far above in the FIFA rankings. The Red-White Team is in 146th position, while Japan is in 17th position.

In his entire career as a coach, Shin Tae-yong has faced Japan once. The 53-year-old coach experienced this moment when he was managing the South Korean national team.

At the 2017 East Asian Football Championship, South Korea was hosted by Shin Tae-yong beat Japan with a score of 4-1. At Ajinomoto Stadium on December 16 2017, South Korea made a comeback against Japan. “I also have experience as a coach. Especially in the 2018 World Cup, no one could have expected (South Korea) to win against Germany,” Shin Tae-yong in a reporter’s meeting attended by detikSport in Doha, Qatar.

“So, we will not give up. Keep moving forward, never give up! Thank you,” he said again.
