On Sunday, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee published an old clip of the Egyptian actor, Adel Imam, in which he directed harsh criticism of the movements that govern the Gaza Strip.
Adraee cited the clip that was broadcast years ago as evidence of the failure of the Hamas movement to achieve its goals in the ongoing war.
The Egyptian presenter, Amr El-Laithi, had conducted a television interview with the famous Egyptian actor, and asked him about his opinion of the armed movements that rule the Gaza Strip.
Imam said, according to the circulating clip: “No one (no one) will be able to do anything for Israel. Israel is a very organized and functioning country. People know exactly what they are doing, and when they say, ‘I will do this,’ they do it.”
As for whether he felt remorse after the Israeli attacks on Gaza at the time, Imam said, “I am very angry about what is happening in Gaza. How can I fight someone when I know how strong he is (I know the extent of his forces) and then come and strike with missiles deployed in workshops. The other party (The other) will not send you flowers. He will send you missiles and hit you.. You must know what you are doing and who you are fighting. Don’t trade anymore (don’t trade the situation).”
Adraee wrote in his post on the “X” platform: “In his most sincere message to Israel’s enemies in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere: “No one will be able to do anything to Israel… How can I come and fight someone when I know how strong he is!” Is there a clearer message to leaders than this? The terrorists’ enthusiasm, their imaginary victories, and their greatest sin are to know their limits?!”
Adraee had published the same clip of the Egyptian actor, accompanied by similar comments, following an Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip in 2018.
The October 7 attack carried out by Hamas killed 1,200 people in Israel. The ongoing Israeli response caused the death of 25,105 people, according to the latest toll from the Hamas Ministry of Health.
