Patna: A young man who called the police and threatened to demolish the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, claiming to be a close aide of underworld criminal Dawood Ibrahim, has been arrested. Intekhab Alam (21) from Araria district of Bihar was arrested by the Bihar Police. Balua was arrested from his house in Kaliaganj under Palasi station on Saturday.
On January 19, he threatened the citizens by calling 112 number to seek emergency help. He claimed that his name was Chhota Shakeel and that he was a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim. He also said that the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be demolished on January 22. As soon as the phone message was received, the police shared the details with the cyber cell.
It was found that the mobile number called by the accused was registered in the name of his father. Araria Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh said that the accused has no criminal background and appears to be mentally disturbed. The police registered a case and seized the mobile phone.
