Technologue.id, Jakarta – The Chinese technology giant, Huawei, announced that the HarmonyOS NEXT software system marks the second stage of development. By the end of 2024, the company will add 5,000 native apps to the HarmonyOS app store.
The announcement of this plan was made by Huawei’s President of Device Cloud at the recent HarmonyOS Ecosystem development event. To make this happen, Huawei plans to partner with other companies including educational institutions to train more than 100,000 developers every month. The goal is to stimulate the HarmonyOS application ecosystem.

Reporting from GSM Arena (19/1/2023), In the future, Huawei hopes to exceed 500,000 original applications for HarmonyOS in the near future. For reference, Apple’s App Store reaches 1.78 million apps in 2022, so Huawei’s app store still has a long way to go.
HarmonyOS NEXT comes with a new UI and its own UI toolkit, SDK and compiler. This is the first release of HarmonyOS that has nothing to do with Android.

Some of the new concepts introduced by Huawei for HarmonyOS Next are named ‘Spatial’, ‘Vivid Color’ and ‘Immersive’.
One of the new concepts for HarmonyOS Next is called ‘Star River’. This name was changed after previously using the code name ‘Galaxy’.
