“All of us who love fashion come home at the end of the day and think about what we will wear the next day, being able to influence people at that time of day from anywhere is wonderful,” he says.

Olivia Palermo: a star is born
Since the American photographer Patrick McMullan captured Olivia Palermo with his lens on the New York social scene, more than three decades have passed and a career within the fashion industry that is as versatile as it is established. “I maintain the essence of Olivia from the beginning, although I try to be in constant evolution,” he details.

A year after being discovered by McMullan’s target, New York Magazine described her as the fashionable girl of New York, a trail that would be joined by the main fashion publications in the world, prior to her entry into the representation agency. Wilhemina already works at the Diane von Fürstenberg firm.
“I love fashion in all its aspects: from design, image, communication or photography,” explains Palermo, who remains grateful and excited to work on his passion. “For me, being able to share and inspire from my way of understanding fashion is an honor and, above all, something I really enjoy,” she says.

Long before the term “influencer” or “blogger” emerged in fashion, Palermo was already working as such.
Now she is aware that times have changed and that the industry and trends have moved at a frenetic pace, driven by social networks and their immediacy, although she tries to “stay focused.”
