Alain Delon, Coluche, Dominique Strauss-Kahn: these names rhyme with fame… but also crime. It is not uncommon for renowned, and sometimes world-famous, personalities to find themselves involved or targeted by criminal cases in France or elsewhere.
Stars of entertainment, political or media personalities… Some have been suspected and investigated. Others, on the contrary, were victims of crime abominable crimes, sexual violence or murder. This is, for example, the case of the journalist from one of the most famous English shows: Jill Givingfound executed in murky circumstances.

It was a Saturday, the 14th of 2011. That day, in New York, the destinies of a man, presented as the future president of the French Republic, and of an anonymous housekeeper, turn into a criminal story that no one would have imagined. In a few hours, Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Nafissatou Diallo found themselves on TV and newspapers around the world. The politician is accused of sexual assault. An assault which allegedly occurred in a hotel room in New York.

2. Jill Dando: Who Killed the Princess of Crime?
Jill Dando was a renowned journalist. She hosted one of the most famous shows on English TV, entirely devoted to unsolved crimes and the search for suspects. In the spring of 1999, Jill Dando unwillingly became an actress on her own program. Shot in the head by a mysterious killer. Maybe a hitman, the crime scene resembles an execution.

3. René Gorlin: the dead man who prowled around Coluche
It’s an affair to mark a black stone in Coluche’s life. A crime that poisoned his career, until then flamboyant, and weakened its existence. The assassination, in the fall of 1980, of its manager, René Gorlin. A bolt from the blue for the comedian who, at the time, was a candidate for the presidential election. 4. The Markovic affair: the poisoned testament of the Republic
In September 1968, Stevan Markovic, Alain Delon’s bodyguard, is murdered. His body is found in a public dump: the news is resounding, and turns into an affair of state. At the time, the affair hit hard not only one of the biggest French stars but also the world of showbiz and cinema. 5. Ylenia Carrisi: Missing from Mississippi
In the summer of 1982, the song Felicità, performed by the Italian Al Bano and the Italian-American Romina Power, took over all the charts to become a worldwide hit. The couple’s daughter, Ylena, was twelve years old at the time, and filled her parents with joy. Several years later, she suddenly disappeared in the United States, leading his father and mother into the worst of sorrows.
