Cubans on social networks reported that the body of a woman was found during the morning of this Friday, January 19, in the municipality of La Lisa, in Havana, specifically in San Agustín, 250th Street, between 35 and 37.
According to the Facebook profile, Woody Alguacil Cubano, the woman would have been found behind a bus stop in the aforementioned municipality, with traces of violence that suggest that it was a possible robbery that turned violent.
One of the first users to report what happened, Ernesto Sánchez, indicated that the body was seen by several passers-by during the morning, but no one called the authorities because they thought it was someone who had fallen asleep at the bus stop.
Sánchez points out that the deceased was between 40 and 50 years old, and that she had arrived in the capital to visit her daughter. In another post, she indicated that her daughter had a nine-month-old baby, and that the news of her mother’s death left her devastated.
“His daughter has a 9-month-old daughter. Her suffering is killing her, she could not go down to where her mother’s body was,” the user indicated.
After the body was found, the authorities went to the scene and began collecting clues to solve the crime and find the person responsible. At the moment, the only thing that is known is that the woman was attacked with a sharp weapon.
What happened generated commotion on networks, where several Internet users could not help but point out the notable increase in the number of violent crimes that have ended in murders throughout the country.
“It’s incredible, every day the news in Cuba is of three or more murders or disappearances, what is happening?” asked one of the Internet users.
This murder occurs just two days after the discovery of the body of Yorjelguis Bolaño Fernández, a Cuban-American who was reported missing at the beginning of January in the province of Mayabeque, was confirmed.
Authorities have arrested four people in connection with Bolaño’s murder, one of whom was the owner of the home where the victim’s car was found dismantled last week.
