Principality of Monaco: more than 2 million FCFA for two partner associations of Faso Gnètaga

Monday January 15, 2024, the Principality of Monaco officially presented checks to two women’s associations partners of the Association Faso Gnètaga (AFG). The handover ceremony took place at AFG headquarters in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The beneficiaries of this generosity from the Principality of Monaco are the Maworobi Association and the Bourhandine Association. The Maworobi Association, represented by its President Fatimata OUATTARA, received 1,250,000 FCFA. As for the Bourhandine Association, it benefited from 1,005,000 FCFA, by check received by its President Alimata Ouédraogo. Or a total amount of 2,255,000 FCFA for these two women’s associations.
These women’s associations which carry out income-generating activities have therefore benefited from financial support from the Principality of Monaco in the form of a grant, to strengthen their areas of activity. It was during a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Faso Gnètaga Association (AFG), where its President Blaise Sanou presented the checks to the presidents of the two beneficiary partner women’s associations. This grant results from the financing protocol agreement, which links the Consulate of Monaco, represented by the Honorary Consul His Excellency Mr. Seydou Diakité, and the Faso Gnètaga Association, represented by its President Blaise Sanou. The main objective of this donation is to contribute to strengthening the autonomy of women in the Hauts-Bassins region, who work in production and processing activities of local products.
At the end of the award ceremony, the President of the AFG, Blaise Sanou, underlined the importance of supporting these numerous women through their associations, because this allows their collective and individual financial independence, through the benefits generated of the sale of processed products. He also recalled that this donation is the umpteenth of the partnership with the Consulate of Monaco. He did not fail to send his sincere thanks to the Consulate and to the Honorary Consul SEM. Seydou Diakité.
The representatives of the beneficiaries expressed their joy at receiving this grant. They promised the donor to make good use of it in line with the objectives of their respective associations.
The Maworobi Association’s area of ​​intervention is the transformation of néré into soumbala, and the Bourhandine Association, the transformation of cereals, such as fonio.
