When Gant founder Staffan Wittmark’s 10 Ferraris in the “W Collection” go under the Artcurial hammer in Monaco on 9 May 2024, it means that around 25 exclusive Ferraris have left Sweden for auctions in 12 months.

Great values
Previously, a dozen from Aje Philipson’s Ferrari collection went to RM Sotheby’s Villa Erba auction at the end of May last year and now in February a couple are going to the Artcurial auction at Rétromobile.
The 12 Ferraris from Philipson’s “Aurora Collection” were sold for a total of NOK 260 million, with a 1961 250 GT SWB Berlinetta for NOK 75 million as the most expensive object.

A similar 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, only of the 1962 model and even slightly more attractive, is also a top object in Wittmark’s collection. Here, the estimate is in the range of NOK 95 to 135 million.
At the bottom, with an estimate between NOK 80 and 115 million is his 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider. On a good day, we are therefore talking about a potential of well over NOK 200 million for two cars.

No minimum price
Wittmark has set a minimum price for these two cars, but his other eight Ferraris are to be sold anyway. And neither are peanuts of cars.
Or how about a 1966 275 GTB with an estimate of NOK 21.5 – 28.5 million? From the same era and a little lower in price is a 1963 250 GT Lusso, a 1965 275 GTS and a 1967 330 GTS, all with prices +/- NOK 20 million.

All Wittmark cars are restored and maintained by some of Italy’s top Ferrari experts and come with Ferrari Classische approval.
Three-leaf clover in Paris
If you don’t have time to wait until May, there will also be a similar car at Artcurial’s Rétromobile auction as early as February 2. Also the Swedish one. It is followed by a Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet and a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from the same collection in Linköping.

The latter is only one of five such Mercedes classics exported from Sweden in the same period. There are slightly different conditions in the car market on the other side of Kjølen.
