The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, praised the efforts and effective and important participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the activities of the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos, which continued since January 15 and concluded yesterday. In a statement, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council quoted Al-Budaiwi as saying, “This participation has become a clear example of effective international cooperation at a time when there is an increasing need for collective efforts to address pressing global issues.”
Al-Budaiwi expressed his pride in his first participation in the forum and the meetings, workshops, and joint global and international activities it contained, and his emphasis on its importance in discussion and exchanging views among participants to find solutions and overcome obstacles facing the world in all fields, especially economic ones.
Al-Budaiwi also pointed out that the importance of the title of this forum, which was “Building Confidence,” comes in light of the current circumstances and developments in the region and the world, as the importance of the various discussions that took place during the forum comes, considering them a reflection of the commitment of the participants to building a global society that is more flexible and capable of adapting. Adding that the time has come to enhance international cooperation and overcome current challenges.
He pointed out that Gulf participation in this forum was not limited to the public sector only, but there was distinguished participation from the Gulf private sector represented by major Gulf companies.
Al-Budaiwi expressed his aspiration for more fruitful and influential partnerships and cooperation in the future to strengthen international relations and partnerships between the Gulf Cooperation Council and countries, regional and international organizations and blocs through these forums.
