There is bad news for Italian motorists: the cost of petrol is about to rise again, here’s why.
For almost two years now, one of the biggest concerns for motorists has undoubtedly been the fuel cost, one of those that weighs most heavily on the pockets of Italians. The first major event that shocked not only public opinion but also the price of petrol was undoubtedly Russia’s invasion of Ukrainewhich had led to costs that were exorbitant to say the least in February 2022.
This is a situation which certainly did not abate even in the months to come and which erupted again during the summer of 2023, when Italian distributors reached the point of exceeding the record cost of 2 euros per litre. For this reason, many looked for a way to save money at least in this respect, while the actions implemented by the government to counter speculation seemed to be of no use.
The autumn of 2023, however, was marked by a drastic drop in prices: a situation which unfortunately is about to end as experts assure us that a new rise is now practically assured.
