It is always worth remembering that fashion trends are rather a short-term phenomenon (of course there are exceptions when trends take hold for a longer period of time) and a much more successful choice is always clothing that sits well on the body, highlighting it rather than blindly following fashion trends.
However, it should be added that this year many fashion trends sound good and useful, and some of them are probably even stuck in your closet – several clothes that seemed long forgotten are coming back into fashion – capri pants, lowered waist area, gaiters and skinny jeans.
Despite the accents of some colors, in general, this season is more subdued and calm, and this applies not only to the color, but also to the overall style. The style of the recent past is clearly marked, such as the nineties and the beginning of the two thousand years with a slight vintage (60s and 70s) touch. On the other hand, it already started in the previous season old money or the trend of quiet luxury confidently continues.
It has become the actuality of the season outdoor or tourism stylistics, which can be clearly observed in sports and leisure shoes as well as outerwear.
Some eccentric trends from the previous season remain, such as transparency and ultra-short shorts that are actually underwear.
Along with the increased growth of yoga, meditation and self-awareness practices, there has appeared a distinct tendency to shift the focus from those around you to yourself, and this has also affected fashion – we look for inspiration in ourselves and in lasting values. Fashion is what suits you and what you like.
The emphasis is on creating and cultivating your own style, not chasing trends and influencers. There is a revival of basic things, that is, the basic wardrobe and, in general, the approach to the contents of the wardrobe is becoming more thoughtful and conscious.
Peach Fuzz
Peach Fuzz is the official color of the year 2024 recognized by the Pantone Institute, so it can literally be in everything from clothing to home decor. In addition to this shade, the fashionable colors are white, royal blue or blue cobalt, canary yellow, cherry and pastel pink (millennial pink), lilac, pistachio and lime green, red. The dopamine explosion can be seen in the summer collections, where there are many bright and colorful combinations.
All calm earth tones and gray gamut, which is a timeless classic, are especially relevant. Metallic fabrics continue to be in fashion from last year. Check and polka dots, flowers are relevant in fabric patterns.

In Latvian, “opiš style” is vintage part of the stylistic revolution that has been observed among fashion lovers for some time. Our grandparents as the biggest source of inspiration – retro street clothes, starting from elegant knitted jackets and vests, shirts of unusual colors and accessories – bow ties, rompers, suspenders.
Micro shorts and transparency
Hot pants or short, rather underwear-like shorts, which became a trend already last year, have also ranked in the list of the hottest fashion trends this year.
The brave can still wear them over tights and sheer skirts like Miu Miu and Kardashian’s Kendall Jenner.
Transparency is also a trend that continues from last season, it must be said, it looks effective.

Functional or just as a visual decoration, bows are everywhere – from clothing elements to shoes, bags and hair ornaments. They are no longer just a feature of the style of millennials and gen Z, in any performance this element of ballet choir style can be widely used.

The minimalism of the nineties and the stylistics of the beginning of the two thousand years – simpler forms and a more muted range of tones with a lot of gray, beige and earthy colors.
