Arab Saudi returned the ultimatum Israel to immediately stop aggression in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Saudi emphasized that Israel’s desire for normalization with Riyadh will never be realized if it continues to carry out aggression against Palestine.

The Saudi ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar al-Saud, said that her party would not continue talks on normalization if Israel continued to carry out attacks on Gaza.

“I think the most important thing to realize is that Saudi has not put the issue of normalization on the table [dengan Israel] as the focus of its policy. Saudi puts peace and prosperity as its main focus,” Princess Reema told a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“Saudi has been quite clear. If there is still violence on the ground and killings continue, we cannot talk about the day after the war,” he continued, as quoted AFPThursday (18/1).

This is a new Saudi ultimatum after previously urging Israel to commit to establishing a Palestinian state, as part of the reconciliation discourse and part of the post-war reconstruction plan for Gaza.

This plan is the result of the hard work of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken who visited the Middle East last week to persuade and lobby countries in the region to help rebuild Gaza when the war ends.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected this discourse. He emphasized that his country was not ready to make an agreement that would allow the formation of a Palestinian state.

Saudi and Israel have reached a significant stage in normalizing relations after years of tension.

However, as a result of Israel’s aggression in Gaza, Saudi canceled the plan for reconciliation.

Saudi Arabia has never recognized Israel and did not participate in the 2020 Abraham Accords, a US-brokered agreement between Israel and a number of Arab and Muslim-majority countries to restore diplomatic ties.
