Clouds will break today, over many areas and will temporarily decrease to sunny. A light to moderate west-southwest wind will blow. This was announced by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
Maximum temperatures, in most places, will be between 12° and 17°in Sofia – approx 12°. A new increase in cloudiness will begin in the evening from the northwest. The wind will shift from the north-west, intensify and bring cold air with it. It will rain, which on the night of Saturday in Northern Bulgaria and the high western fields, will turn into snow and there will be blizzards.
Along the Black Sea sunny weather will prevail. A moderate to strong southwesterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be between 12° and 16°. The temperature of the sea water is 7°-9°. The excitement of the sea will be 2-3 points, but with a tendency to weaken.
Over the mountains there will be partly cloudy skies, almost no precipitation. A moderate to strong westerly wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be approx 10°at 2000 meters – about 3°.
On Saturday the wind will shift from the northeast and increase. Cold air will sweep across the country. It will be cloudy with mostly snow showers; in southern Bulgaria before noon it is still raining, but as it gets colder, the rain will quickly change to snow there as well. There is an increased probability that in places, mainly in the Pre-Balkans and in South-West Bulgaria, the amounts will be significant, a snow cover will also form, in some areas reaching 20-25 cm, in the mountains – up to about 55 cm. In Central North and North-East Bulgaria, as well as on the mountain passes, there will be conditions for blizzards and winds. In many areas, temperatures will have the opposite diurnal trend: the morning between 1° and 6°, by 2 p.m. – already between minus 4° and 1°. During the night to Sunday from the north, the precipitation will begin to weaken and stop, at the latest – in the morning on Sunday – in the Rilo-Rhodope region. It will be cold, in the eastern half of the country still windy.
