Jakarta –
Jordan Henderson ending his adventure in Saudi Arabia early. The former Liverpool captain terminated his contract with Al Ettifaq and moved to Ajax.
Henderson just joined Al Ettifaq last summer on a three-year contract. However, Henderson and the Saudi Arabian club agreed to terminate the contract early.
Henderson then continued his career in the Netherlands by joining Ajax. The 33-year-old midfielder signed a contract until 2026.
“We need an experienced midfielder who has a leadership spirit. Also because of injuries, we are looking for someone who can play straight away. Jordan Henderson is that type of player,” said Ajax coach John van’t Schip on the club’s official website.
“His arrival means a big improvement for our squad. Both on and off the pitch, a footballer of this caliber is important for many young players. He is an England international and has won the Champions League and many other titles with Liverpool.”
“I’m happy he’s here and I think it’s very good for our club that he is now an Ajacied from today,” he said.
Hendo is here.
