Maxi detailed that this coverage was obtained from 6,528,963 children out of a total of 8,491,178 targets who had received polio immunization in Central Java, East Java and Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

This target, he said, was not only achieved from the combined total of immunizations in the three regions.

“The realization of immunization in each region has also exceeded this figure,” he said.

Meanwhile, Central Java reached 2,858,936 children or 73.2 percent of the total target of 3,903,678 children, while Sleman, DIY, reached 89,111 or 59.5 percent of the total target of 149,821 children.

Maxi appreciated the hard work of all parties who participated in supporting the achievement of the polio immunization target.

Maxi added that the first round of Polio Sub PIN will still take place until January 21 2024. For this reason, he invited all people who have children aged 0-7 years and live in the three areas to make the best use of the remaining time by inviting their children to community health centers, posyandu, or immunization service posts appointed by the government to receive free drops of polio immunization.
