ROME (ITALPRESS) – “The commitment of those with public responsibilities is a civil mission, a service carried out in everyday life in favor of the common good – not theoretically but concretely – which cannot ignore a solid ethical reference. Being a public manager requires an overall consistency in lifestyle and relationships. It requires awareness that your behavior expresses and confirms the principles of which you are qualified witnesses.” Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, receiving the winners of the eighth Sna management training course-competition at the Quirinale. “We are well aware of what the Constitution asks of all ‘public employees’: to be at the exclusive service of the Nation, as indicated in article 98, and, for all those entrusted with public functions, to act ‘with discipline and honour’, as Article 54 provides. This reference to ‘discipline’ must first of all be intense – especially for a manager – as a reminder of self-discipline”, he added. “The manager is, inevitably, a model for those he has to coordinate. His authority, his ability to have an impact and obtain results also derive from his credibility and his ability to express himself personally.
Not only the mere respect but the positive promotion and translation into reality of the principles of legality, good performance and impartiality largely depends on the action you carry out every day in the different administrative contexts”, added the head of state.
