- Microsoft extends Copilot to its office suite as well
- At the same time, it introduces a paid version of Copilot Pro
- There is also the option of creating your own Copilot GPT
Microsoft has introduced a new premium prepaid service, Copilot Pro, which aims to enhance the well-known Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) with advanced artificial intelligence features. At $20 per month per user, Copilot Pro offers a higher level of service, including priority access to GPT-4 Turbo and advanced AI image creation using Microsoft Designer’s Image Creator.
Gradual expansion of Copilot across platforms
In addition, Microsoft announced or confirmed the general availability of Copilot for iOS and Android, as well as the expansion of Copilot to Microsoft 365 for businesses of all sizes, starting on January 16.
According to Microsoft, the Copilot Pro application is aimed primarily at experienced and advanced users, content creators and anyone who wants to get the most out of Copilot. Subscription offers a unified AI experience across devices and applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
It also brings new capabilities, such as creating custom GPTs (similar to what is possible within the premium ChatGPT) using the Copilot GPT Builder tool.
Microsoft 365 with the new Copilot for $20
In addition to the new paid Copilot Pro, Microsoft is making Copilot for Microsoft 365 available to other commercial customers. Previously only available to large enterprises, this service is now available to businesses of all sizes, including SMEs. Copilot for Microsoft 365 integrates artificial intelligence across work data and promises to increase productivity in Teams, Word and Excel. With no seat minimum, small business customers can purchase one to 299 seats for $30 per person per month.
Copilot has also recently expanded with several new features. One of the most notable is undoubtedly the Copilot GPT, allowing users to tailor Copilot to specific interests, such as fitness or travel. The Copilot mobile application, which is now available for Android and iOS systems, then offers seamless integration of Copilot functions into mobile devices. In addition, Copilot is being added to the Microsoft 365 mobile app, which will launch over the next month.
Perhaps soon here
So Microsoft continues to make the most of its unique partnership with OpenAI, aggressively integrating AI wherever it makes a little sense. It’s actually a bit of a surprise that we didn’t see the integration of AI into Office earlier and either for free or at a more affordable price than USD 20 per month, which translates to roughly CZK 450. However, we do not have to deal with this yet, as the Czech Republic is missing from the list of supported countries. So we will have to wait some time for the launch of the new version of Copilot, or rather its integration into the practically ubiquitous office suite.
