Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: Russia Will Persistently and Consistently Achieve War Goals in Ukraine

Russia cannot be “defeated” in any way in Ukraine, the country will persistently and consistently achieve the goals set in the war. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2023, reports TASS.

“There is no hope that Russia will be defeated in any way. This has already been said many times. Those who have not studied history, and there are many in the West, can fantasize on this topic. <…> We do not object to the agreements that other countries have concluded with Ukraine, but this does not change our goal at all. This was confirmed the other day by President Vladimir Putin. We will achieve the goals of the special operation consistently, persistently, and we will achieve these goals,” Lavrov said.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that Putin has repeatedly said that Russia is not giving up on negotiations on Ukraine. “He said this back in 2022, when by order of [бившия британски премиер] Boris Johnson and other Anglo-Saxons of Kiev were forbidden to sign an already agreed settlement agreement (of the conflict) with the Russian Federation. This story was well known in April 2022. And speaking in 2022 on this occasion, the president again stated: we do not refuse negotiations, but those who refuse must understand that the longer they delay, the harder it will be to is being negotiated. Now we see the fulfillment of this prophecy,” Lavrov stressed.
