It may seem like not so long since the AMD Zen 4 architecture appeared (it happened in September 2022), and already a new generation is knocking on the door Zen 5. This should appear in the processors of the Granite Ridge series, and the news will be compatible with Socket AM5, so there will be no change here. Existing motherboards with 600 series chipsets should also be able to understand them. New AMD processors are to be introduced this year, and now we have information that they are already mass-produced.
This information appeared on the social network X (Twitter), which of course does not mean that it will definitely be the case. It is speculated that the new processors could be presented at the Computer 2024 fair at the beginning of June and go on sale during the 3rd quarter of this year, or at the turn of the 3rd and 4th quarter (that is, at the beginning of autumn). What we know about the new processors is that they should have higher performance and better efficiency, a redesigned front-end, and they will also receive a chip for accelerating artificial intelligence algorithms. However, more information will leak onto the Internet as the launch approaches, i.e. probably in the spring.
