An episode of air pollution has been underway since Friday January 12, 2024 in the Lyon basin and Nord-Isère. To respond specifically to this episode and reduce pollutant emissions, the Prefect of Rhône has decided to issue a decree establishing a list of emergency measures, the main ones of which are as follows:
Differentiated circulation is established
Only vehicles displaying an air quality certificate (Crit’Air sticker) of “zero engine emissions” class, class 1 or class 2 are authorized to circulate within the Low Emission Zone (ZFE) of the Lyon Metropolis.
Access routes to TCL park and ride facilities remain authorized for all vehicles.
private cars carrying at least three people, priority vehicles of general interest, exceptional convoys, passenger cars with drivers and taxis, etc. will be able to continue to circulate.
Motorists who do not yet have a Crit’air sticker can complete their procedures online at www.certificat-air.gouv.fr. A receipt will be immediately issued to them and can be presented in the event of an inspection.
Accompanying measures
THE TCL are setting up the Ticket’Air: €3 per day for unlimited travel.
Other support measures are put in place to encourage the use of other means of transport than the car.
Lowering the speed in the department
A temporary speed reduction of 20 km/h is introduced on all roads in the department when the authorized speed limit is greater than or equal to 90 km/h.
Axes whose speed is limited to 80 km/h are limited to 70 km/h.
