Libreville, Tuesday January 16, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The two new structures put into service by the first airline in the CEMAC zone allow it to get closer to its customers in Equatorial Guinea.
In the implementation of its vast development plan, the air transport company, Afrijet, has just opened two new agencies in Malabo in Equatorial Guinea. In addition to the Bata agency, one has been established in the city center and the other in the new terminal. This double opening, which comes after the launch in November 2023 of the first direct connection between Libreville and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), will further enable Afrijet to open new connections. Malabo already has a connection with Benin (Cotonou), Gabon and its domestic flights (Port-Gentil with four connections per week and Franceville with two connections per week) and Sao Tome and Principe with a weekly connection. The economic capital, Bata now has one connection per week to Kinshasa and from Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo. Cameroon is served by Afrijet with six weekly connections, one to Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport and five others to Douala.
For the company’s top management, the opening of these two new agencies meets objectives. “A few weeks after the inaugural flight of the first direct air link between Libreville and Kinshasa, we are proud to inaugurate our two new agencies in Malabo. We put our network and our know-how at the service of Equatorial Guinea. By offering connections between Malabo and Cotonou or Bata and Kinshasa, we are responding to strong connectivity needs and participating in creating new opportunities for populations,” specifies Marc Gaffajoli,General Administrator of Afrijet.
With 22 ticket sales points, Afrijet aims to open new agencies in several other countries that it already serves. To this end, it plans to extend its sales network to around thirty points. In addition to extending its network by opening several agencies, Afrijet has set up a new website and a call center to get closer to regional customers. “These new steps demonstrate Afrijet’s commitment to making meeting mobility needs a development lever for Africa. We participate in the intensification of commercial and cultural exchanges and we create jobs. To the sixty sales agents who will eventually be employed in our agencies, we must add the management staff and those responsible for ground operations, directly in the airports,” underlines Marc Gaffajoli.
