UPDATE – VVD votes in favour, Eric van der Burg has his majority
Compulsory Act Day II in the Senate, Eric van der Burg can answer yesterday’s questions. Standings so far: BBB and VVD are the weak brothers. For the Liberals this is no surprise because many former directors in the group may vote in favor, but for BBB it is not unexpected but unfortunate. Last year it turned out that the party looked problematic in terms of the Compulsory Act, Arie Griffioen confirmed this yesterday by saying that the strong words of Caroline van der Plas in his Senate faction worth little are. In the meantime, Geert Wilders will also be scratching his head during the formation negotiations about the BBB reliability of the largest party in the Senate (it will not be the PVV and JA21’s fault). Next week really exciting because voting, but for today first the Senate Ericstream HERE.
Update 15:40 – Somewhat vague story: VVD Senate faction wants to discuss with itself today what it actually wants with the law. Joe. Debate is still going on.
Update 19:11 – BBB member Arie Griffioen is still unclear about what his group will vote for. They will meet later this week to discuss the matter.
Update 19:19 – VVD will vote in favor of the Compulsory Act next week. This means that Eric van der Burg has obtained his desired majority.
Update 19:26 – Wilders is surprised, these will be fun formation discussions
Update 19:46 – PVV faction leader Alexander van Hattem: “The VVD has succumbed to left-wing pushback.” He tells the liberals that they can still repent, the vote will not take place until next week.
Update 19:51 – JA21 faction leader Annabel Nanninga: VVD betrays his own voter again. A few weeks after the elections, the right-wing promises are again thrown into the trash.
Update 20:00 – D66 wanted a roll-call vote for next week, but has withdrawn that wish. PVV member Van Hattem wants that roll-call vote. This means that the BBB faction still has to show its colours.
Update 20:45 – OPNL – de one-man faction on behalf of provincial parties – will also vote in favor of the law. That was unclear for a long time and could be a decisive vote.
Update 20:53 – Over-eighty Martin van Rooijen (50PLUS), the other previously decisive vote, does not comment on what he votes on Tuesday.
