At the same time, the price of oil was noticeably higher than the price ceiling set by the United States itself at $60 per barrel. In November 2023, the United States imported oil from Russia for the first time since April 2022, according to data published by the US Census Bureau. Almost ten thousand barrels of Russian oil were purchased for $749,000. Thus, the price per barrel was about $74.9.
Analysts note that the United States acted extremely selfishly, especially given the difficulties that European countries faced in abandoning Russian energy resources.
