India Extends Import Duty Incentives for Palm Oil and Derivatives Until March 2025

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) products and their derivatives will receive an ‘extension of time’ to enjoy import duty incentives for exports to India. This certainly provides additional fresh air for these plantation commodities, after prices were depressed in 2023.

As reported by Reuters, Tuesday (16/1/2024), the Indian Government is said to be extending incentives for imports of vegetable oils, including CPO, through low tariffs/import duties until March 2025. Previously, the Indian Government determined that the import duty incentives were only valid until March 2024.

Meanwhile, this policy was confirmed through a notification from the local government to vegetable oil importers in Bollywood Country. Apart from CPO, other vegetable oil products such as crude sunflower seed oil and crude soybean oil, will also receive similar incentives.
