Last season, the races in Anterselva took place in the same way as this year at the end of January. However, the composition of the individual disciplines was different. The program included sprints, pursuit races, and the men’s and women’s relays concluded the race weekend.
Among the men, Johannes Thingnes Boe ruled the roost, winning the gold medal in all three events. In the women’s category, the composition of the podium was more varied, only Sweden’s Elvira Oeberg stood on it three times, when she took bronze twice from individual races and won a silver medal with the women’s relay.
The Czechs did not do very well, the best results were the sixth place of Markéta Davidová from the fighter and the same position was recorded by the male quartet consisting of Krčmář, Mikyska, Václavík and Štvrtecký.

Saturday will be marked by mixed relays. Shortly after midday, pairs and a mixed quartet will set out on the trail in the afternoon.
On Sunday, the race in Anterselva will end with a mass start. First, the best men rush into the trail, then at quarter to three, the ladies also compete in the prestigious race.
Nomination of the Czech team to A
The Czech team is still trying to find peace before the upcoming home world championship. Markéta Davidová showed signs of the return of the old form in Ruhpolding. Although she didn’t do well in the sprint, she performed the first clean four-event race of the season in the chase and moved from the fifth ten to the final 11th place. Lucie Charvátová shined in the sprint when she was 8th, but she shot off the pursuit race in the last event. Jessica Jislová and Tereza Voborníková also collected a decent amount of points in both races.
On the contrary, Michal Krčmář is experiencing a deterioration compared to the beginning of the year, he was the only Czech to score points in the sprint, but he fell to the sixth place in the chase. Vítězslav Hornig took the first point in the pursuit race, but that was all from the Czech men’s team. Jakub Štvrtecký and Jonáš Mareček did not get the points, Tomáš Mikyska started only in the relay.
Five women and five men can participate in each part of the SP for the Czech Republic.
