Windows 10 already has a date set to lose support from Microsoft and thus enter its end of life. With this announcement also came the end of developments and potential news. After all, Microsoft is preparing an improvement, which shows that it has not yet forgotten Windows 10 and is preparing new features in this version soon.
New features coming soon to Windows 10
The focus of Microsoft’s developments is centered on Windows 11. This is the system that is currently being improved and optimized, and is also where the software giant applies its new features and where it tests changes to apps and the interface.
Still, it appears not to have abandoned Windows 10, a system for which it still releases security updates and fixes for detected problems. This is normal behavior, given that in 2025 this system will lose support from Microsoft, forcing users to make a logical migration to Windows 11.
What has now been revealed, and announced by Microsoft in one of its new test versions, new features will emerge. These will be on the Windows 10 lock screen, where improvements and much more relevant information for the user will be presented.
Weather widget like Windows 11
This will appear in the form of a weather widget, which will use MSN Weather, Microsoft’s weather forecast service. The information present will give the user the weather forecast, with the current, maximum and minimum temperature, alerts, location and time.
The new feature is now in the latest test build of Windows 10 and there is still no date for it to be made available to all users. In addition to the new widget, this build also fixes a wide range of issues in Microsoft’s operating system.
This widget is similar to what we already have in Windows 11, which can be activated manually by users. It is expected that with this new feature the lock screen will be more complete and more useful for users. It also adds to Copilot, which will soon be available on the new Microsoft system.
