Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Indonesian population is already addicted to smartphones or smartphone. In fact, Indonesian citizens rank first in terms of time spent staring at screens and playing on cellphones.
This fact can be seen from the latest State of Mobile 2024 data released by Data.AI. According to this data, Indonesian citizens will be the users who spend the longest time with mobile devices such as cellphones and tablets in 2023, namely 6.05 hours every day.
Indonesian citizens are the only people who spend more than 6 hours on cellphones every day. In second place, Thai citizens only spend 5.64 hours per day. Argentina is in third position, namely 5.33 hours per day.
Indonesians’ cellphone addiction is actually not as bad as in 2022. In 2022, Indonesians will spend up to 6.14 hours per day staring at cellphone and tablet screens.
Indonesia also occupies one of the top positions in terms of application downloads. Data.AI places Indonesian citizens in 5th position in terms of application downloads. Throughout 2023, Indonesian citizens will download applications around 7.56 billion times.
In terms of download, Chinese citizens have no competition. In just one year, Chinese citizens downloaded applications 113.41 billion times.
Even though they are number one in using cellphones, it turns out that Indonesian citizens are not number one in terms of using mobile applications. Indonesian citizens “only” spent 415 billion hours throughout 2023 on mobile applications so they are in third position.
The citizen who spends the most time on mobile applications is India. Indians spend 1.19 trillion hours using mobile applications.
