Bombing Targets Houthi Site in Al-Lahiya District, Yemen: American and British Forces Deny Involvement

Yemeni sources revealed that a bombing targeted a Houthi site, on Sunday, in the Al-Lahiya District, north of Hodeidah, overlooking the Red Sea, west of the country.

The sources explained that the strike, which was carried out by aerial bombardment, led to “the destruction of a Houthi missile platform in Jabal Jad’a, and it also affected an operations room in the coastal defense building, north of Al-Lahiyah.”

It spoke of “intensive flights of fighters and reconnaissance drones over Hodeidah, to monitor Houthi movements,” without revealing the identity of these movements.

The sources said that the Houthis “accuse the American and British forces of bombing the Jabal Jada’ site,” while the United States denied that it carried out strikes on Yemen on Sunday.

Strikes against the Houthis… awaiting results and repercussions

During the past weeks, the Houthis carried out attacks on commercial ships that they say are linked to Israel or heading to its ports, and they demanded an end to the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, American and British forces carried out dozens of air strikes across Yemen during the past three days, and the Houthis pledged to respond to them.

The strikes increased concerns about the escalation of the conflict that has been spreading in the region since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, with Iranian allies from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen entering the line.

On Friday, the Pentagon said that the US-British strikes had “good effects,” while the Houthis reduced their effectiveness.
